Find anything in your workspace instantly. Search across posts, users, projects, comments, annotations, and media with real-time results powered by Convex search indexes.
The fastest way to search is the command palette. Press ⌘ K on Mac or Ctrl K on Windows and Linux to open it from anywhere in the app. The shortcut works globally, except when your cursor is inside a rich text editor where ⌘ K is reserved for inserting links.
Start typing and results appear instantly. The command palette uses fuzzy matching, so partial words and slight typos still return relevant results. Use the arrow keys to navigate results and press Enter to open the selected item.
The command palette defaults to searching posts. Use the category tabs at the top of the palette to switch between posts, users, projects, comments, annotations, and media. Your selected category is remembered for the duration of your session.
Search indexes cover six content types in your workspace. Each type searches different fields and returns results linked to the relevant resource.
Search by post title and body text. Results can be narrowed further by selecting a specific project from the filter dropdown.
Search by username and display name within your workspace members. Useful for finding a teammate’s profile or recent activity.
Search by project name and description. Results respect project visibility settings — private projects only appear for members who have access.
Search within comment text on posts. Each result links back to the parent post so you can jump straight to the conversation.
Search within annotation text on media attachments. Results link to the parent post and the specific media item where the annotation was placed.
Search by filename across all media attachments in your workspace. Results link to the parent post containing the file.
For deeper exploration, open the full search page at /search within your workspace. The search page shows complete results with more context than the command palette, including post previews, user details, and project descriptions. You can also reach the search page by pressing Enter on an empty command palette.
All search indexes are powered by Convex, which means they update in real time. When a post is published, a comment is added, or a file is uploaded, the content is searchable immediately — there is no delay or reindexing step. Deleted content is removed from search results just as quickly.
Search results respect workspace boundaries and project visibility settings. You will only see content from your current workspace, and posts in private projects only appear if you are a member of that project. This applies to all search types — comments, annotations, and media inherit the visibility of their parent post.
Search works best with distinctive terms. Instead of searching for “update,” try the specific feature name or topic you’re looking for.
When searching posts, use the project filter dropdown to narrow results to a specific project. This is especially helpful in workspaces with many active projects.
If you remember the name of a file that was shared, switch to the Media search type and enter the filename. This is often faster than scrolling through the feed to find an attachment.
Use the Annotations search type to locate specific review feedback across all posts. This is useful when you remember the text of a comment but not which media item it was attached to.
For the fastest experience, press ⌘ K to open the palette, type your query, use ↑ ↓ to navigate, and press Enter to jump directly to the result. Press Esc to dismiss the palette.
